RECOMMENDED USES

Timbakote Deck Pro is an ideal coating for new and weathered timber cladding, fences, decks ,furniture and any exterior timber where a sheer natural water resistant stain is required.

SURFACE PREPARATION

New Timber: The surface should be clean and dry, any stains or stencil marks should be removed. All cut edges should be sealed prior to installation. It is recommended that LOSP treated timber is left to weather for 7 days in its end use situation prior to coating. If timber has been left exposed for longer then 30 days, wash down prior to application with detergent and water with a soft broom. Allow to dry for 12 hours. Oily or resinous timber should be left to weather for 4-6 weeks prior to coating.
Aged/Weathered Timber: Apply a sugar soap solution, leave for 10-15 minutes and scrub with a stiff bristle brush. Remove any greyed timber fibres to produce a uniform surface to stain. Rinse off with generous amounts of water and allow to dry. Treat a small area at a time. Hose down vegetation prior to application.

APPLICATION

Apply 2 coats of Timbakote Deck Pro with a good quality brush, roller or applicator pad.
If excess stain occurs redistribute to form an even cover. Allow 2 hours between coats. Weathered timber will appear darker after application. A trial patch is recommended before you start. Do not apply at temperatures less then 10 degrees C. In hot weather dampen timber down prior to application to assist with even distribution of the stain. Always keep a wet edge and coat to the natural breaks in the timber.
Any splashes should be removed immediately by wiping with a rag and water.
Reapply at least every 2-3 years or when the coating looks weathered.

COVERAGE

6-12 sqm per litre depending on porosity of surface, temperature and application technique.

DRYING TIMES

Depending on such factors as ambient temperatures, humidity levels and air circulation. The general dry times at 6-12 sqm per Litre are:
Touch dry 20 minutes
Recoat Time 2 hours
Curing time 14 days

MAINTENANCE

Recoating should be completed before deterioration of the coating allows weathering of the timber substrate to take place. A patchy, thin, faded and uneven appearance indicates the need for recoating.
Re apply 1-2 coats of Timbakote Deck Pro over a properly prepared surface.
Regular washing with an anti-mould cleaner will help with the appearance of your coating and assist with the removal of mould and algae extending the lifespan of Timbakote Deck Pro

CLEAN UP

All equipment can be cleaned up in water.

SAFETY

Wear impervious gloves and wash paint deposits off skin with soap and water.
Moderately irritating to eyes- wear splash proof goggles to protect eyes.
Flush eyes immediately with plenty of water if coating splashes to the eyes occur. If discomfort persists seek medical attention. Keep out of children's reach. Ingestion: Give 1-3 cups of water and seek medical attention.

DISPOSAL

Paint containers are reusable for non-food purposes and recyclable in areas where recycling and collection facilities are available.
